Evening Prayer and Ally contemplates nature and how our Lord imprints the whole universe with the mystery of life; Ally reminds us that all creation proclaims Christ’s love, from the smallest blade of grass to the brightest star above.  

This week our Evening Prayer is led by Ally W, who reminds us that in our souls we have darkness, restlessness and lack of understanding – yet with God there is light, peace and a Way planned for each of us to tread.

Our Evening Prayer proclaims Christ’s resurrection and our salvation, so that we may serve and live in Christ’s risen life – this is Patricia’s joyful and final prayer for us this week.

Patricia prays that Christ, who taught us to love our neighbours as ourselves, walks along side us so that we can care for those in need. We ask for Christ’s strength to comfort the fearful and the sick, and his generosity to assure the isolated of our love through Evening Prayer.

Patricia prays to the God of all, who sits with refugees in overcrowded boats, as a father with his family. Patricia asks that we who bear Christ’s name answer the needs of refugees with compassion and empathy.

Evening Prayer and Patricia prays that God will be our tower of strength – that we fix our hearts where true joys are to be found and in response to God’s love our lives overflow in thanksgiving and generosity.

Patricia considers the virtue of patience and what it means to have faith in silence in Evening Prayer. Patricia prays for us when we face trials beyond our understanding, that we continue to be joyful in hope, to wait patiently, and find peace in our Lord’s plan for us.

Evening Prayer this week is led by Patricia, who tonight prays for us all to be kept safe under the shadow of Christ’s mercy in this time of uncertainty.

Our Rector’s last Evening Prayer this week and Liz reminds us that God made all peoples of the earth as one family and that Christ his son was sent to bring peace to all nations. Liz prays for the coming of God’s Kingdom so that all of us may share the Lord’s spirit.

Liz considers the wonders of God’s earth through our Evening Prayer – that these may raise our spirits at this difficult time – as we walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of our lives.
