Morning Prayer sees Remi considering the disciples who did not recognise Christ on the road to Emmaus, and how often we fail to see Christ too – yet independent of our doubts and faith, Christ is always there as a love that burns within us.

Remi’s first Morning Prayer this week features a prayer from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer, 1662, which reminds us to be thankful and praise God, by dedicating our lives in Stewardship to Christ’s service.

Our final Morning Prayer is led by Roberta who considers those suffering discrimination, cruelty and racism – we know God loves them with an everlasting love and we pray that the afflicted are comforted and those who are responsible for these injustices are convicted.

Roberta leads our Morning Prayer and reflects on God’s perfect love that casts out all fear. Roberta asks that through Christ’s example we will lift up those in our communities and further afield who are feeling gripped by fear during this pandemic.

Morning Prayer – Roberta asks for greater wisdom for us all from God – so that we can meet many different situations and people who cross our paths and remain gentle, fair-minded and approachable.

Roberta considers our relationship with Jesus Christ through Morning Prayer – his generosity and protection both freely given – she prays that we learn to know, love and follow Christ more closely this rainy day.  

Roberta reminds us of Jesus’ example of persistence in prayer, so our Morning Prayer serves to remind us that we must stay patient and courageous, never lose hope and bring our prayers before God.

Our Morning Prayer starts this week with Roberta’s prayers for the earth that we till – and for God’s grace to help us work faithfully and reflect our Lord’s glory out into our communities.

Morning Prayer is read for the last time by Rick this week and he reminds us that like Christ’s disciples, we should become more like little children; Rick prays that we strive for the welfare & protection of all children and young people, so that they are treated with respect and can flourish.

We pray together with Rick for Morning Prayer – as he considers the richness of God’s words of unending love – which taste sweeter than honey and are more valuable than finest gold. Rick prays for an increase of Christ’s gift of faith, peace, and hopefulness as we look to the future. 25
