Michael leads both Morning and Evening Prayer this week. Morning Prayer – Michael reads a passage from the First Epistle of Paul to Timothy, chapter 5, verse 17 to the end. This scripture considers the Apostle Paul’s advice, given to his younger colleague Timothy about how Timothy and all who follow Jesus should manage the structure of their church; “Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in preaching and teaching; for the scripture says, ‘You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain’, and, ‘The labourer deserves to be paid.”
