This Morning Prayer marks Corpus Christi – the day of thanksgiving for the institution of Holy Communion. Amabel recites an ancient Corpus Christi prayer; “Even as this broken bread was scattered over the hills, and was gathered together and became one, so let your Church be gathered together from the ends of the earth into your kingdom.” She reminds us to be still and aware of this beautiful morning, for we wake to the mercy of Christ’s redeeming light, to the freedom of beginning again and the forgiveness of this new day.
